Canned Heat isn’t in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame?!?
If you want to change this, you need to write a letter to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation in New York:
The only way to effectively contact the representatives is to submit a written letter to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation Headquarters, and let them know how you feel about the music of Canned Heat.
The actual museum in Cleveland, OH has nothing to do with the induction process.
You can write to:
Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Foundation 1290 Avenue of the Americas New York, NY 10104
If you feel strongly but don’t know what to say, Here is an example of the form letter we sent for induction in 2004 & 2005, 2006, 2007, & 2008 which received a response:
To Whom It May Concern;
I strongly urge your staff to consider the Blues/Roots Rock group Canned Heat for Performer induction in the 2006 class for the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. “On the Road Again,” with over 38 albums to date, Canned Heat has stayed together under the leadership of Adolfo “Fito” de la Parra. They have toured the world every year since 1966 without breaking up the band or retiring.
Their knowledge as Blues Musicologists helped bring Blues music into the mainstream Rock & Roll charts at a crucial time in recorded history. Their performances at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967, and the Woodstock Music Festival in 1969 made them one of the largest acts in the world at that period. Please let me know how you intend to proceed on this issue. Thank You for your time,
Sincerely,
YOUR NAME HERE
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s CONTACT PAGE Has more information about the process. Please follow the link.
Thanks Again!
